Greens Candidate to visit electorate - by bicycle
|
Greens candidate for Myall Lakes Judy Donnelly will be visiting major centres throughout the electorate in early March hoping to meet as many people as possible along the way. Starting from Old Bar on March 5th, Judy and her partner John will be quite noticeable on the highways, as they will be on their bicycles, towing their ‘Green Machine’, a trailer with climate change slogans to catch your attention. “As keen recreational cyclists, John and I first visited this area as part of a bicycle trip. What could be a more appropriate way to get out and meet people and highlight climate change at the same time?” said Ms Donnelly “We have been holding street stalls and setting up at markets throughout Myall Lakes, and one of the greatest concerns to local people is climate change and the things we can all do to combat it. Other issues that are causing concern are public education, workers rights, water resources, bushfire control and inappropriate development” The NSW Greens have policies addressing these and many other important issues and Ms Donnelly will be happy to hear opinions on any local topics. “If anyone would like to join us for all or any part of the trip we’d be delighted to have them along. We are not racing cyclists, we are planning a leisurely- paced ride, and intend to cover about 60 kms a day.” Check the route plan if you would like to cheer them or meet them along the way” Monday March 5th9.00a.m. Old Bar shopping center 10.30a.m. Manning St Taree 11.45a.m. Interview at 2BOB radio Taree 1.00 p.m. Brush Gallery Isabella St. Wingham Tuesday March 6th8.30.a.m The Village Green, Nabiac 10.30a.m. Coolongolook General Store 4.00p.m. Stroud st Bulahdelah Wed 7th March9.00am Stroud st Bulahdelah 10.30a.m. John Wright Park Tuncurry 11.30a.m. Wharf St Forster Times are approximate, depending on weather conditions |
