Local Groups

• Local Greens groups have responsibility for elections held in their area, particularly elections for the House of Representatives, New South Wales Legislative Assembly and Local Government. There are currently 50 local groups throughout NSW. The Greens NSW are affiliated with the Australian Greens, which is turn is part of the Global Greens network.

In Parliament

	Senator Kerry Nettle : Kerry became the first Greens Senator for NSW at the November 2001 elections, and took her seat in the Senate in August 2002.
	Ian Cohen MLC : Ian has been a pioneering community-based environmental and social justice activist since 1980, working at local, state and national levels. In March 2003, Ian was re-elected to the NSW Legislative Council for a second term. Ian is now entering his 12th year of office as a Parliamentarian.
	Lee Rhiannon MLC : Lee was elected to the NSW Legislative Council (Upper House) in 1999 and re-elected in 2007. During the past eight years, Lee has campaigned to reform public education funding, ban corporate donations to political parties, champion gay, lesbian and transgender rights, as well as opposing inappropriate mining projects and advocating for more sustainable public transport.
	Sylvia Hale MLC : Sylvia joined Greens MPs Ian Cohen and Lee Rhiannon in the Legislative Council of the NSW Parliament after being elected in 2003.
	Dr John Kaye MLC : John is the newest member of the Greens NSW Parliamentary team. John is a professional engineer and an expert in sustainable energy and greenhouse issues with over twenty years of research and teaching experience.

In Local Government

• The Greens NSW have 59 councillors working hard throughout the state. You can search for your local councillor by their name or council.
  

The Australian Greens

• The Greens NSW is a member body of The Australian Greens. The Australian Greens is a confederation of state and territory-based Greens parties. Each state Greens party is free to organise its activities as it sees fit, following the Greens principle of decentralised decision-making.
